Contact facade, commonly referred to as 'Demit facade' in everyday language, is a popular method of external insulation for buildings.
It is a multi-layered system used to enhance the energy efficiency of buildings, consisting of the following basic layers:

  • Insulation Layer: Materials such as expanded polystyrene (EPS), rock wool, or extruded polystyrene (XPS) are commonly used. The insulation material is either glued or fixed to the building's wall.
  • Reinforcement Layer: This layer consists of adhesive and a reinforcing mesh (typically made of fiberglass), which further strengthens the system and protects the insulation.
  • Finish Layer: The finish layer may consist of decorative facade plaster (such as acrylic, silicate, silicone, or mineral plasters) that provides an aesthetic appearance and additional protection against atmospheric elements.

A contact facade can be applied to both new and existing buildings. For new constructions, the process is relatively straightforward, and work can begin immediately. However, when renovating or working with existing buildings, it is essential to assess the condition of the current facade, specifically the load-bearing capacity of the existing layers, before proceeding with the installation.
When selecting the type and quality of materials, we recommend considering the following factors: components that will provide a long-lasting solution, effective thermal insulation for both summer and winter, soundproofing from external noise, and fire resistance of the facade.

Ventilated facades are becoming an increasingly popular choice due to their numerous advantages, including energy efficiency, durability, and aesthetic value. This facade system consists of an outer cladding layer, a ventilation layer, and thermal insulation, which allows for effective air circulation and reduces condensation.
Key functions of the ventilation layer:

  • Reduces heating and cooling costs while meeting energy efficiency standards.
  • Removes diffuse water vapor, which moves from the warmer interior space to the exterior during the winter.
  • Eliminates any potential condensation.

A ventilated facade is the preferred choice for commercial buildings, hotels, and other exclusive structures due to its superior thermal properties, high-quality finishing, aesthetic appeal, and the long-lasting durability of the entire facade system.
